[Muttering curses to herself, she scrambles empty-handed for the other side of the boat just as, with one last great heave, the lake monster pulls the entire thing over.]
[Well this sure is a concerning situation. He watches as Arlene holds her hand out and a grand total of Nothing At All happens, brow furrowed.]

["Matter" is instead replaced with an inelegant shriek as the creature finally flips their boat, sending them crashing into the... whatever body of water this is.
And moments later, he's sitting bolt upright in his own bed, still yelling loudly and sputtering even though he's completely dry. FUN. Arlene will get a frantic text making sure she's alive and well soon after, at least.]
[Who has two thumbs and swims like a brick? This girl! She grasps for the oar in a flailing panic, splashing water into her own face and mouth--
Arlene wakes up on the floor, gasping for air as though she were still drowning, hopelessly tangled in her sheets. She's just about managed to extricate herself from the mess when her phone chimes.]

my guess? it has something to do with all the other weird garbage going on this month the glitches or whatever idk why or how but this isn't the first time it's happened to me before that dream i had the same one with someone else too not going back to sleep now though tbh ┐(´～｀)┌
